Tattoo removal is a procedure done to try to remove an unwanted tattoo. Common techniques used for tattoo removal include laser surgery, surgical removal and dermabrasion.
Tattoo ink is placed beneath the top layer of the skin. That makes tattoo removal more complicated — and expensive — than the original tattoo application.
If you're interested in tattoo removal, consult a skin doctor (dermatologist) about the options. Don't attempt tattoo removal on your own. Do-it-yourself tattoo removal creams and other home treatments aren't likely to be effective and can cause skin irritation or other reactions.
Tattoo Removal Treatment Process
FREE CONSULTATION – At Ha Laser Tattoo Removal Specialists Consultation: Before starting the treatment, the patient will have a consultation with a licensed and trained tattoo removal specialist. During this consultation, we will evaluate the tattoo, discuss the patient's medical history, and determine the best course of action for removing the tattoo.
PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT – For best results avoiding sun exposure is imperative. Local anesthetic can be applied to avoid discomfort. Depending on the location of your tattoo, loose clothing is advised to avoid irritation.
DURING THE TREATMENT – During the laser treatment, the specialist will use a handheld laser device to target the tattoo ink. The laser emits high-intensity light pulses that penetrate the skin and break down the ink particles into smaller fragments.
POST TREATMENT CARE – After the procedure, the specialist will provide the patient with instructions for post-treatment care, which may include avoiding certain activities, keeping the area clean and dry, and applying topical ointments or creams.
